UNDER THE SUN
Readings, Book Signing, Reception
Glenis Redmond, author of Under the Sun, made poetry come to life at the Metropolitan Arts Council on January 24. An attentive crowd of 60 also were delighted to hear readings from local poets Vera Gómez, Sue Lile Inman (both Emrys members) and Kimberly Simms. Glenis, who took her first writing workshop from Sue, now lives in Asheville and travels extensively as a poet.
Visual works from the King Snake Press collection were on display as well. The exhibit included monoprints by Emrys artists Patti Brady, Phil Garrett, and Fran Woodside. The event was sponsored by the Metropolitan Arts Council and co-hosted by The Emrys Foundation.
Thanks to Annette Garver, Emrys’ unofficial photographer!
