We encourage emerging authors and understand that each literary journal has different guidelines. Ours are simple:
The editors of the Emrys Journal invite submissions (please, NO simultaneous submissions) of previously unpublished short fiction, poetry, and essays.
Submissions will be accepted beginning August 1,2009.
Address manuscripts may be sent to the Journal Editor, P.O. Box 8813, Greenville, SC 29604.
Please send an SASE for reply. We cannot return manuscripts without an SASE.

Essays and short stories should be no more than 5,000 words.
No more than two (2) stories or essays and no more than (5) five poems may be submitted per author. We do NOT accept simultaneous submissions.
We do NOT accept any work in the categories of romance, religion, science fiction or mystery.
If you are not sure whether your work suits the style of our journal, please read previously published works before submitting yours. We have some selections available online, or you may purchase a back issue for $12 + $3 postage and handling by sending a check to:

It will help your chances of getting published if you send us something that works within our style.
Documentation should conform to the MLA stylesheet.
Please don't expect a response until after the reading period. No manuscripts will be returned until the after the end of the reading period on November 1.
Let's review: Manuscripts will be accepted only from AUGUST 1 through NOVEMBER 1. Please, do not send submissions outside this reading period.
Extra credit to all those who get our name spelled and punctuated correctly: Emrys Journal. NOT Emry's. When we see that it makes our eyeballs bleed and small kittens curl up and die.
