Visible Voice

  • Greenville County Museum of Art 420 College Street Greenville, SC, 29601 United States (map)

When poets are inspired to write about art, it is called Ekphrastic Poetry, a powerful exchange of one art form speaking to another. Visible Voice will take place at the Greenville County Museum of Art with EMRYS poets Claire Bateman, Vera Gomez, Glenis Redmond and paired with emerging poetic voices: Isabella Gardner, Grace Gardner, Elena Castro and Amber Sherer. Each will choose an artist’s work to respond to poetically and then share what they have gleaned during a poetry reading on August 18th at 2 p.m. in the gallery at the GCMA. The community is invited to witness what happens when art speaks to poetry.
