The editors of Emrys Journal invite submissions of unpublished fiction, poetry, and creative nonfiction.

We are pleased to have published works of the highest quality from both emerging and established writers. Submissions for the Emrys Journal come from all over the world. Each year we offer three awards:
Sue Lile Inman Fiction Award - A prize of $250 is awarded to one writer for the Sue Lile Inman Fiction Award for excellence in the art of the short story. Established in 2001 by the family and friends of Sue Lile Inman and by the Emrys Foundation, this annual prize honors Emrys Journal’s founding editor and former Board President.
Nancy Dew Taylor Poetry Award - A prize of $250 is awarded to one poet for the Nancy Dew Taylor Award for excellence in the art of poetry. This award was established in 2003 to honor past-President Nancy Dew Taylor by her family, friends, and the Emrys Foundation.
Linda Julian Creative Nonfiction Award - The prize for excellence in the art of the essay was established to honor the memory of Dr. Linda Julian by her family, friends, and the Emrys Foundation. $250 will be awarded to one creative nonfiction contributor.
The Emrys Journal editors strive to promote our contributors by nominating them for Pushcart Prizes and other honors. Rivers Solomon's Whose Heart I Long to Stop With the Click of a Revolver (2017 Emrys Journal Sue Lile Inman Fiction Prize Winner) was chosen by Roxane Gay for Best American Short Stories.
