The submission period for the 2013 Journal will be announced next fall. Read our listing on Duotrope.com
The editors of the Emrys Journal invite submissions of previously unpublished short fiction, poetry, and essays.
The Emrys Journal is, to use the words of an Emrys founder, one outlet for “writers … who [are] in sore need of a place to present their work, an audience to receive the work, and a patron to subsidize the projects.”
Many writers have gotten their start with publication in the Emrys Journal, and we have also been pleased to publish works of the highest quality from respected and established writers.
The Emrys Journal is published each May. Submissions will be accepted between August 1, 2011, and November 1, 2011. No submissions will be read or held before the reading period begins on August 1, 2011.
To submit to the Emrys Journal:
- Choose your favorite short story (5,000 words max), poems (up to three selections), or essay (5,000 words max).
- Submit online at emrysjournal.submishmash.com ! You may submit online for free during our submission period, which is 8/1/11 to 11/1/11.

Again, essays and short stories should be no more than 5,000 words. Documentation should conform to the MLA stylesheet.
