March 27th Reading Room features Pushcart Prize winning poet Dorianne Laux and poet Joseph Millar!

Emrys is is delighted to announce that on Monday, March 27, Ms. Laux and poet Joseph Millar will read from their work for Furman’s faculty and creative writing students. Later that evening, the public is invited for a free reading at 7 pm at the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts. Seating is limited; audience members are encouraged to purchase books for pre-sale at MJudson Books

A Professor of English at North Carolina State University, Ms. Laux is the author of five books of poetry, most recently The Book of Men, published in 2012 by W.W. Norton. That book won the prestigious Paterson Prize. Her poetry volume What We Carry was a finalist for the National Book Critic’s Circle Award.

Joseph Millar

Joseph Millar's first collection, Overtime, was a finalist for the 2001 Oregon Book Award. His second collection, Fortune, appeared in 2007, followed by a third, Blue Rust, in 2012. His latest collection Kingdom will be released in early 2017.
